ROTARACT ON THE MOVE

An Outreach Project in Banahaw Elementary School

A multi-faceted project organized by the Rotaract Club of Mandaluyong West in close collaboration with our sponsoring club Rotary Club of Mandaluyong West, Philippine Dental Association, Philippine Bible Society, Olympic Village, Prestige Alliance and The Fraternal Order of Eagles.

This project successfully bridged gaps in education, health, and sustainability through targeted community interventions. To empower local educators and students, the project provided a Smart TV, tablets, and recreational equipment, while simultaneously enhancing the school's medical capacity with a new clinic air-conditioning unit and "Words of Peace" educational materials. This was further strengthened by the Green Legacy project, which saw the planting of 300 Narra tree saplings for long-term soil stabilization and carbon sequestration, alongside a Sustainable Shopping campaign that distributed high-quality reusable bags to reduce the community's reliance on single-use plastics.

The mission also prioritized family wellness and economic independence through the "Maternal Confidence Kit" and "Threads of Hope" programs, providing 30 mothers with clothing, sewing materials, and livelihood starter kits for home-based micro-enterprises. Health outcomes were improved through the "Healthy Smile Campaign," which provided dental kits and hygiene training to 100 participants, alongside vital signs screenings and vitamin distribution for expectant mothers. By combining physical infrastructure and environmental reforestation with transferable vocational skills, the project established a permanent foundation for growth and resilience in the community.
